                                                                                                                                                                      Janet Page March 2013

Born in Port Elizabeth on 5 January 1961 as Janet Ah Kun. who now resides in Durban, South Africa.

Studied at the PE Technikon from 1979-1981 for her Diploma in Fine Art and majored in Painting.  In 1982 received The Higher National Diploma in Fine Art and her Dissertation was Romanticism in Landscape Painting.  In 1983 received The Diploma in Technology in Art.  Her thesis was the Life and Works of Dorothy Kay.  Janet was the first student to receive this Diploma and the first woman to receive this Diploma at the tender age of 22 years old.

She studied under Hillary Graham, Neil Rodger, Alexander Podlushac, Phil Kolbe, Colin MacDonald, Hilton Nel who had a influence in her early work but most of the influence comes form her Oriental roots as Janet is a Chinese South African.

Her works are scattered throughout the globe in Canada, United States, London, Germany, Australia and different cities in South Africa.

Janet did not paint for many years after "View of the Beachfront" was lost in the middle of the Free State while travelling from Port Elizabeth to Johannesburg and again when "Testimony" was stolen from her home in Hillcrest in 1998.

Janet passion and dream to paint again was ignited when she was asked to paint a banner for her Church Dance Group.

The feedback that she received was so positive that she decided to paint a Lion for the church but the painting bug bit and the dream was restored .. hence this website was created... to spread the love and appreciation of Fine Art to the 4 corners of the world and that gifted artists may be compensated for the fruit of their labour  and to live their dream. She was also asked by the Pastor to paint an Eagle.

"My desire is that the man in the street can have good fine art in their homes and that art appreciation is not for the rich elite... that is the reason why i keep my prices reasonable and my desire that I can market my art prints to the four corners of the world so that I can work full time on my painting."
